How we Stopped a Strip ClubPosted on 9 May, 2016 by David StanfieldA strip club application denied, a corrupt development exposed and a massacre site redeemed. These are just some of the amazing testimonies told to me by a friend living here in Australia. All of these stories have come after using banners in worship and warfare in his city. You, too, can have an incredible impact in your city! Here are some of his stories: We have been meeting as a prayer group for many years in the centre of our city. Several years ago we prayed at the various gateways around our city. This strategy helped us become a more cohesive group. However, when David visited our city and we attended his workshop, we experienced the power of banners in worship and warfare in a whole new way. People in our group come from different churches in the city and we meet together each week. We often use banners when we pray, and some of us worship together with banners in our homes. We believe the Lord has given us a watchman role over our city and through us He is drawing the churches together. He has encouraged us to be vigilant for our city, particularly against ungodly influences. We use banners in warfare. Below are some of the breakthroughs we have seen as we have worshipped and prayed with banners. Strip Club Application Withdrawn. In response to the application, we decided to walk, as a prayer group, across the front the proposed venue, praying for God’s will to be done here. Within a month the business had been sold and the strip club application had been withdrawn. Corruption Exposed With banners flying, we walked around and across the block of land, reading Joshua 23:5-13 (about God driving nations out and taking possession of the land) and claiming the land for God’s purposes. While we were doing it, a couple of people asked us what we were doing and expressed approval of our actions. Within a week, the foreign group was exposed as being corrupt and the development negotiations ceased. Indigenous Massacre Site We met in a quiet spot adjacent to the island and prayed with banners. This was particularly powerful time for our group and many of us received visions and words of knowledge. We now call the area Redemption Island. We believe that, in part due to our intercession and prophetic actions, the spiritual tone of the nearby town has improved noticeably.
